They all work on the same principle. No playback advantage to gain on pricey ones. They just tend to be more durable and have good warranty support. Sometimes the extra price is due to marketing/brand building costs.

For car playback I wouldn't want something long sticking out of the dashboard either...most flash drives are a couple inches long, and are easy to break that way.

but for $6.99 you can get a piece from radio shack that is essentially a USB-Swivel so you can fold it down while in use:

(90 day warranty parts and labor)

As For flash drive reliability: it may make a difference: my friends generic one would (if you can beleive this) overheat while playing music in his car, to the point where it just stopped working entirely after a while.

You can look at it this way though: if the PNY is considerably cheaper than the San Disk, then there is no reason not to try: because even in the albeit slim chance that it does break down, you could afford to replace it VS getting the San Disk (which by the time a breakdown occurs, may be more affordable anyway)

all usb drives are not same. but in ur case lowest priced one will suit. the tranfer speed will be high in higher cost ones. but music playback needs very low transfer rate.the difference is when you want to backup the entire content to a computer or from computer.for filling 8 GB lowest priced usb drive will take around 30 minutes and highest priced one will do it in around 5 minutes.

No music playback advantage.

The only advantage to buying a higher priced one is increased durability, faster data transfer rates and better warranty coverage.

another thing that sometimes differ in the usb is that recently some contain software with them to allow you to be more organized. Mostly I've seen this in sandisk drivers I have owned both brands they are both good no complaints about any of them.

you will use it to keep your laptop artwork on. because you ordered 2 i assume you will use one to hand in laptop initiatives on your instructor and the different to keep day by day artwork. You plug in the flash tension to the USB port and the laptop thinks that's yet another no longer ordinary tension.
