Two men holding hands might be a LITTLE funny to us, but I'm not sure it's LMAO funny. This is not at all unusual in the Muslim world.
I believe in our troops. If they say the surge is working, then I'll go with what THEY say. I'm in communication with many of them and they're of the belief that the surge has vastly improved the situation for both the troops and the Iraqi people. I'm not going to insult the honor and dedication of these brave men and women by "LMAO" when THEY'RE trying to do their jobs.
As for Maliki and Ahmedinijad, what's the big, shocking surprise here? Two Shiite "brothers" showing affection, friendship and respect for each other? I'm still trying to figure out the negatives of that.

Our policy is that the Enemy of my Enemy is my friend.
Not the friend of my enemy is my enemy. Get your conservative diatribe strait.
Iraq is gonna be a very wealthy nation in the tradition of all Americas post war occupations. Iran will continue to be sanctioned until they come into compliance with the demands of the international community and they are gonna need a hand out every now and then. So he should buddy up to Maliki while he still has a chance.
Its funny how recognizing Iran as a rogue nation has endured them to so many Liberals. I cant wait for the Michael Moore Documentary showing how the Iranians enjoys so much more freedom than we do. That country is only powerful in its own mind and is lucky American foriegn policy treats nations like these as children. BC the easy answer is to go in Bill Clinton style and "Bomb them back into the stone age" But we are to good for that. We are trying to give Iran a chance to save itself. Americans are so kind and gracious. I geuss thats what distinguishes us from the Axis of Evil and the non allied "powers". Ahmendinjad is the king of nothing. Hes a joke. A cartoon of a man who is probably the only man alive beside Jong ill who is actually shorter than Bush.

Actually, that's one of the examples of progress.
al Maliki is Shiite, so is Ahmedinijad -- and the only way Iraq is going to be stable is to start building alliances with neighbors.
If we don't like their choice in allies -- that's out of our hands -- the entire point of them being their own democratic country is making their own choices....... it hardly counts as a free democracy if we can overrule their own decisions.

i see it as a warning that Maliki knows that the liberals are loudly screaming for withdrawal and is making him nervous about our commitment to Iraq and if liberals get their way and we do withdraw, he will be left 'holding the bag' and knows that Iran will take over.
it should make the liberals think rather than laugh, it is a critical issue that will affect the future of the globe.

I think Maliki is a loser who is as much of the problem as the rest of the place. He's not helping.

When you have the proverbial 800 pound gorilla living next door, it's a good idea to at least pretend to get along with him.
