First, I think they don't eat there all the time like we do. Their general diet is usually much better, they eat more vegetables and grains.
Second, most of these other countries provide health care to their people. Do you know that our infant mortality rate, the number of babies that die in their first year, is much higher than almost all first world countries, it ranks with many third world countries. Our health care and our obesity are the major reasons. It's shameful.

Because a lot of the local populations do not frequent the fast food eating establishments on a daily basis and tend to eat more in moderation than the US. Also other world populations tend to be more active than the US. I lived in Costa Rica and only the very rich could eat at McDonald's. Imagine a McDonald's surrounded by BMW and Mercedes cars. The people who ate at the establishment only went there once in awhile because it was considered a treat. Frankly I preferred the local food and tended to eat that instead.

If i'm in a foreign places united states and that i choose an exceedingly rapid meal, i flow to McDonalds or yet another chain. Going to a familiar eating place can take in to 2 hours or extra in some countries. If i choose a sturdy meal and have the time, i flow to a close-by eating place.
