The news part of the story is that the Senator has criticized the Bush Administration about removing the Everglades. That's noteworthy, and certainly a worthy lead-in to the issue. Seems like both sides got a say, more or less. The attackers always get more space than the defenders, but this story didn't strike me as particularly unfair.

what I don't get is- the whole endangered list is a joke. We don't even know all of the different life forms on this planet, let alone how many of them there are. Who's out there counting alligators?
