If you have food, water, first aid supplies, a flashlight, and some form of weapon (for defense against looters), then you are as prepared as you can be.

Reasonably so, but not so overly prepared as to be a survivalist. I learned some lessons over the last few years (family here for 3 weeks after Katrina) and our own multi day power outage in the heat of the Summer courtesy of a storm and years of tree trimming cutbacks so that our utility could provide good bonuses to it's CEO. Have the wind up radio, tools, flashlights, bottled water and some MRE's. No weapon as I really don't believe in having a gun in the house.

Not at ALL worried. I live in Iowa. And as they said today on ABC-TV's "This Week," it doesn't look like bin Laden will waste his time anytime soon by launching an attack on Ottumwa. And NO hurricane could *ever* affect Iowa. This nearly crime-free state is one of the BEST places in the whole world to live.

So paranoid I am NOT. Nor ever will be.
