your at the end of the flint. Remove the casing, undo the screw. Turn the wheel and the remaining flint will pop out. Replace with a new flint, reassemble the screw and case.

Zippo Flint Stuck

They get stuck when you are low on flint and the small piece gets jammed into the wheel. Try turning the wheel backwards a little bit, until the wheel frees. Then take out the flint and replace it. Be sure to get the old piece out first.

I have sent several lighters back to zippo, they have done a great job on repairing them. It doesn't take too long either. They will also install a new lighter part. That way you have a new spring and a new hinge, it yours is damaged.

good luck with the lighter.

When my does this, it means the flint is shot. The tiny sliver left is cocked and jamming the wheel.
Open lighter. Remove lighter body from outer housing (case).
Turn upside down. Remove (unscrew) screw on bottom (be careful, it's under spring pressure!). Try turning wheel, striking lighter body onto palm of hand with screw hole down, to dislodge flint sliver. Replace new flint. Reinstall in reverse order.

usually a sign that the flint has been used up, and it's metal/metal from the wheel and the "support pin" that's spring loaded with the flint (usually on top of it).

Unscrew the screw in the bottom, and install a new flint, and you should be good to go.
