I have about five fish and they are called different names based on their appearance and behaviour:-

Slinky is a slim,fish who doesn't swim around the tank but just seems to slink her way around;

Sliver is another slim fish who seems to just, well, sliver around objects in the tank;

Bubble is a fat little round looking thing that reminds me of a bright orange bubble;

Nib is the aggressor of the tank and likes to take a nibble of the others if they get in the way;

Pastel is a very wishy washy pink colour;

Olga is the sucking loach that loves eating the algea in the tank;

Zip, Lightening, Surfer are also other fish I have had in the past.

Have fun!

All my pond fish have names - some are - Rudolf (he has a red nose), Wednesday (Was baught on a Wednesday) Beedee (was baught on my birthday), Blacky - he was born in the pond 14 years back and was jet black (I didn't realise then that most fish are born black), City - he's a blue koi with white stripes down his back - and as I have another 18 fish I won't name the rest.

Hi Vicrum, my fish are named according to what their colouring or physical attributes were when I first got them-'Apricot', 'Blacktail', 'Buttercup', 'Marmalade' & 'Tiny'. That way it doesn't matter if a 'he' turns out to be a 'she' & vice versa-which has happened twice so far!. The only problem is Goldfish almost invariably change colour &/or grow erratically so my method is not foolproof by any means-'Blacktail' no longer has a black tail & 'Tiny' is no longer tiny!
