You kind of have to learn your period. If you go the regular 2-5 days your heaviest days will likely be on day 2 and 3. I buy the box of pearl tampons that have the three different absorbencies. On day 1 I wear regular and change every time I use the restroom, which is once every 2-4 hours. On day 2 and 3 I wear the super absorbancy changing every 2-4 hours or whenever I use the restroom. On day 4 I wear regular changing every 4 hours and day 5 I wear the light days tampon changing whenever I use the restroom. If you feel alot of resistance when taking the tampon out then you may need to switch to a light days pad. Also, as others have mentioned wear a pantyliner. Better safe then sorry. If your swimming just change your tampon before you swim and right after you swim. Hope this helps

You'll leak if the tampon gets too full to hold any more before you change it. Average is 4-8 hours depending on your flow and the size of the tampon. Don't leave it in longer than 8 hours, no matter what. You risk getting TSS that way.

you can get some minor leaking. you need to wear a panty liner for the first 3 days always. you don't want to be out and have an accident. yes they can leak and yes they can not. it just depends on how heavy your period is. on the first 3 days wear super plus ones to make sure you are controlling what comes out more. the regular ones do not work to well on the first 3 days. good luck. we all have accidents but you can prevent it better with the liner. change that tampon every 2-3 hours to make sure you are having better control of your period leaking. plus you don't want to leave one in to long that is not safe.

Yes they can leak sometimes if you have a very heavy flow. Just choose a good brand of tampon with the right absorbency and wear a panty liner just in case.

If you leave it on for to long it will. It depends on how heavy you bleed. Change it every 5 hours maybe.

Also you can try a Soft cup. You can buy it from any pharmacy store ect ect.

Go in the aisle where the tampons are or read up on it on the internet. Its another alternative to using tampons or pads. Most women athlethes use it bc its also comfotble and you can where for 12 hours.

You can also have sex with it in you so I read. I didnt try it but thats what I read.

who knows.. thats another question?

I haven't found a tampon that DOESN'T leak, if only a small bit.

There are great pantiliners out there that are very thin and leakproof. I recommend you use one with every tampon to protect your clothes!

and, for pa: it IS designed for comfort, actually. You probably haven't ever worn a maxi pad that feels like a diaper and leaks onto your clothes and emits a nasty odor -- a large percentage of women will tell you they absolutely prefer the comfort of tampons.

it shudnt luv - the whole point of a tampon is to stop all the blood from leaking out - jus make sure you follow the simple instructions that come with it and do not leave it in for too long and get the right size for your type of period (heavy, light ect.) so the tampon will stop blood.

Its is possible that you will leak. However there is a new tampon to prevent this. Tampax with a skirt. The only way of really preventing this is to make sure you change regularly or even slip a little panty liner in your underwear. You can even get the ones that smell nice.

It depends on how heavy your flow is on any one day. If you are having a heavy day, you should perhaps wear a panty liner as well especially at the beginning of your period and make sure to wear a super absorbent tampon.

if you have had the tampon in too long and it is filled up with blood, then it will leak onto your undies//pants

best way to solve this--wear a thin panty liner to catch any leakage!
