Who and when please. Or is it that they believe in the separation of Church and state?
Or is it that they believe that we don't have the right to force anyone else to live by our religious beliefs? We have every right to tell them about it, but that's it.
If it is not those mentioned above, please inform e what you are talking about.

I spend some time on this site defending a biblical point of view, one of a mature liberal Christian. A point of view as described in the book of ACTS and Sermon on the Mount. I do not aim to offend those of little or no faith, nor am I trying to convert anyone. I am only responding to a question with a religious slant. I have seen obscene questions from a conservative and liberal slant, both are here.

I find that most of the "bashing" that I have seen is against man-made religions and not God, and more specifically, against organizations and Churches that are trying to have the Christian religion made a central consideration in the process of making decisions that affect how all of us live their lives. Would you have all people that disagree with your religious views silenced?

Honestly, they don't bash religion. They aren't threatened by religion. But mention Jesus Christ in a Fundamentalist Biblical way, and they respond with fury !
They don't want social constraints, unless it is THEIR social constraints, which include silencing Conservative Christians.

I think they're hypocrites .
EDIT**** - Hey Cora , you're full of baloney and don't have the faintest idea of how our legislative branch works . You can't when you say ridiculous things like " Laws are being passed purely based on religious dogma " . And any foolish Christian democrat who agrees with you is selling their soul .

Well, I don't think there is a single candidate on the Republican side that does, but there are plenty on the Democrat side that bash religion!!

Freedom of speech. I don't have to agree with them. Also remember just because someone disagrees with another shoving religion down their throat or using religion to make secular decisions doesn't mean they are bashing religion.

I have great faith in God, and no faith in organized religion. That being said, I fully understand why people are turned off by the dogma and doctrine of religion. I don't think any less of people who express their opinions and beliefs, even when they don't parallel my own. They have every right to do so.

It's a defensive reaction that I've noticed in many people.
When one side constantly tries to force their religion down everyone else's throats by passing laws based solely on religious dogma -- sometimes the only way to ensure religious freedom for everyone is to fight back.
