Your on the right track just asking this question. First buy what you need not what you want and save your money it takes years to become financially independant as you get older you can invest in real estate. There is no short cuts. Good luck it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders. Keep up the good thinking and it will come.

Step 1. Write your income for THIS month at the top of a sheet of paper.
Step 2. List EVERYTHING you will do with that money and keep a running total.
If the number at the bottom of the page is anything other than -0-, your budget needs fixed.
Step 3. You can't spend ANT money unless it is on that paper.
If you need to make any changes, you MUST physically rewrite the budget BEFORE you spend anything else.
If you can live by those rules (I'm still learning), you will NEVER have financial problems.

Get the book "the Wealthy Barber" and read it. You can also look at Dave Ramsey's website. He has several books for kids and adults.
You can buy them or check them out from your librariy.
