My Brother has a 1991 acura integra and when he was driving home last night his clutch pedal got stuck to the floor and when we try to shift it grinds. We thought he broke a cable but it is still in tact.

Someone brought up the fact that there may be a bolt stuck in the flywheel. I just put a racing clutch in there and we torqued it well and used lock tite.

Does anyone have any suggestions i can do just about all the work it needs myself.

Any help is greatly appreciated

what might have happened to it the end could have broken off the cable, the pedal should have cam back up,if you can get to it see if the cable could have broken in to in the middle,if not the problem may be on the inside of it,and you know this means pull it back down,be sure though that its still connected there at the pedal, they can slip off at that point, good luck on it.

The clutch return spring broke or came off. It could be on the lower end of the cable outside or under the dash hooked to the pedal. Another possibility is the the throwout bearing support is dry and causing it to bind.
Another possibilty is the clutch cable could be dry and binding. Squirt some WD-40 on the upper end under the dash and let it run inside the housing.

Still could be a broken end on the cable. You are going to have to take the cable off and inspect. If that is not it, pull the tranny and look for an obstruction.
