I am still so mad that Tommy Glavine who was perfect for the 7 innings he pitched yesterday got a no desision becasue Wilie Randoph made a poor desision to take him out and put in Mota who happily gives up a grand slam. why is it that Galvine can never win two in a row? It look him 2 tries for 299, two tries for 300, now 2(at least) tries for 301!

Because:

A - Willie Randolph is the worst manager in the major leagues. How many times does Mota have to blow a game before Willie stops using him? What a joke.

B - The Bullpen sucks overall. Wagner is great, Heilman is decent. Feliciano is okay. Beyond that, Mota, Schoenweis, Sosa, Sele, they all kind of suck.

to no longer take something removed from Mr. Glavin yet he's been fortunate to be on some efficient communities. The lefties that come to my concepts are, Lefty Gomez, Lefty Grove, Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton....John Tudor became an below rated lefty for the Cardinals. no longer that he's the excellent ever. only under no circumstances an allstar even. i think of you could ought to flow with Warren Spahn or Sandy Koufax inspite of the undeniable fact that.

You're approaching a revelatory truth -- pitchers' wins are not a very informative statistic, because too many things factor into a win over which the pitcher has no control (or even influence) over.

But "never"? C'mon. The man is now 23rd all-time in W accumulation, surely somewhere he's picked up three or five or seven consecutive. (I could quickly find out but don't really care.)

Because the odds of doing the same thing twice in a row are two to one against you. Let alone, that in baseball there are so many elements that will affect a pitcher's "decision" (win or loss).

By the way, you are right. Willie Randolph is a boob.

Because the Mets suck. The Braves and Phillies are beating up on each other and still gaining ground because the Mets refuse to win and get splattered by the Marlins.

Yes, blame Willie Randolph who is so desperate right now he can't think straight. I think he put Maine in on short rest the other day because he was so desperate for a win.

Why can't Tom Glavine EVER win on the first try?

Are you implying that it took him 600 starts to get to his 300 wins? Are you implying he has NEVER won two starts in a row?

I think you are indulging in a bit of hyperbole here... if you do not know what that word means, take a moment and look it up. YOU need to know.

It's all about timing and who he's up against at the time.

It's just one of those things you really can't put your finger on.
