Most political analysts agree that "evangelical christians" represent the largest block of American voters. Women and blacks are a large block too but not as much as the former.

the most powerful block would be independents. but they dont tend to vote in the primariesas much thats usually done by the more extreme members of the two parties. In the primaries for the democrats I would have to say minorities ( latinos and black voters ) For republicans i would say the Christian consurvatives. Tough these may not be the biggest blocks of voters ( though christians are ) they do carry the most influence.
I would say women do tend to vote independant of race more than men do.
The black vote has been predictably democrat for a while now though that trend seems to have peeked and may be on its way to evening out in the future but it will take a while. because i think they are finally starting to realize that the democrats are patronizing them not really helping them.

Neither, it's the Kool Aide vote if you believe the mainstream media. Airheads are by far the ones catered to. But most of them can't find the polling place let alone vote. The real clout is the American voter that can see through the fay, vote Ron Paul.

The most predictable block of votes comes from the black community ... between 89-94% have voted democrat for the past 30 years.
