ok so i injured my left knee 7 weeks ago and have been in an immobolizer since. I started PT 2 weeks ago and have some movement back in my knee without pain. I have practice tonight and i'm going but what if anything would i be able to to at practice. we're just working on stunting, jumps, and tumbling for now until we get the cheorgrapher in september. i am allowed to walk around without the brace on but i still have to wear it at work and such. Should i try stunting (i wont be jumping or tumbling until i get clearance) or should i wait for the clearance on everything. (i'm a base NOT a flyer)?
my injury is a partial tear to my MCL if this helps any

Wait until you are cleared by your doctor before doing that. You will be putting a lot of pressure on your entire body as a base. You don't want to have to sit out the entire season. I had a partial tear of my hamstring my senior year and still tried to perform for Regionals before I was cleared. I wiped out in the middle of the routine. Needless to say, we didn't go to State. Good luck!

If your practicing you should wear something comfortable and something you can move in like soffe shorts and comfy shirt. I would recommend keeping you hair out of your face in a pony tail. Definitely listen up and speak up if you have to. I'm not a cheerleader but I'm a dancer so hope I helped.

Even though it is the wrong cat. to post.... I am gonna answer you ... I use to coach cheerleading and have 2 daughters in now... you should let it heal.. you are a base... you know what you are doing... so.. don't make it worse... let it heal .. follow your Dr. or coaches advice.. it you hurt in worse now you could be out for the season,... competition,,,, all stunts.. and on the very back row ... hiding in the back cause you are not back to your full potential yet....

wait until you are cleared by your doctor. as a base you would put far too much strain on your injury when you lift, toss, or catch a flyer. You could permanaently injure yourself. I know it sucks to wait, but take it slow!

I am pretty sure you wont find any doctors or atheletes here at P&S....but this Mom says....Stay off it until fully cleared. A renewal of the injury could put you out forever.

I think it depends if you feel comfortable moving and walking. Or are you still worried about it? I think you should wait, maybe just watch practice tonight?

keep off it, until complete clearance, you can go and watch so you know what you have to do when your knee is better but don't include youself, as much as it hurts not to join in.

I think you should ask your doctor this and not random people on the web; especially in a catagory which is dominated by avatar games and absolute randomness.
