Bingo, just use some paper cut in to squares and put numbers on them, You would have to duplicate them. The bingo caller keeps one set of numbers so they can call them out. The other set can be dealt out to the children. Use pennies of something similar when the number is called.

Also, make a quiz up about what that age group is in to, pop stars, cute lads etc.

Card games, charades, scary stories where one starts and then the next one has to add on to the story.

Mafia, it's a great game, it requires a deck of cards though...what the premise of the game is you have a number of people sitting in a circle...take out exactly the number of cards as you have people...only all but three cards are number cards, the three cards are face cards, it doesn't really matter which, but one face card is for the mafia, one for the doctor, and the other for the sherriff. Just know which is which. Shuffle these cards and pass them around, making sure no one sees anyone else's card. Then you begin....(oh one person needs to be the narrator, this means they tell the story and control the game they also don't get a card). The narrator begins by telling the group to go to sleep, meaning everyone closes their eyes...no peaking!!! The narrator then tells the mafia to wake up...the mafia member opens their eyes...the narrator then tells them to choose who they want to "kill". The mafia member points at someone and never says a word, now only the mafia and the narrator know who has been killed...the narrator tells the mafia to go back to sleep. After that the narrator tells the sherriff to wake up...the sherriff can then point to someone they think is the mafia member. Once someone is pointed to the narrator either shakes his/her head yes or no dependant upon whether it is really the mafia or not. The Sherriff is then told to go back to sleep, and finally the doctor is summoned awake. The doctor points at someone they want to "heal". If this person was killed that round by the mafia they are killed no more. Finally the doctor goes back to sleep. The narrator tells everyone to wake up...and recounts the story of what happened last night...how the person was killed etc...it's fun to juice up some weird story. After the story is told, the one who is killed is not allowed to talk the rest of the game, however no longer has to go to "sleep" either. The group then opens up for discussion on who the mafia member is...this sometimes gets crazy so the narrator has to reign it in sometimes, finally they take a vote, you can only vote one time per round...you vote on who you think is the mafia...once the vote is done, the person voted the mafia is killed...if you are right then the game is over, if wrong the game continues, with the person you thought was the mafia dead like the other person killed they can neither talk nor do they have to sleep. Oh, one other thing, if the sherriff points to the mafia or the wrong person during the sleeping process, they can try to sway the group on who they think it is, however they can not tell the group they are the sherriff. Anyways, its a great game...hope you have fun whatever you do!!!

You can play pictionary. You don't need the actually store bought game to play it. Or you can fold a piece of paper in 3rds. The first person draws a head, then flip it over so the next person cant see the head only the end lines. The second person draws the torso and do the same. The third person draws the lower legs. Then at the end unfold the paper and she what was created.

I still love to play board games. And I know that most people now days only care about getting drunk or doing drugs. Try to find some friends who are more intellectual and I guarantee they will want to play board games. They might be a little nerdy but i would choose that over a friend with a hangover.

Alphadarchy - also known as Categories. You will need a pen/pencil and a piece of paper and basically all you need to do is think of a list, (as long or as short as you like), of topics,

IE Boys Name;
Girls Name;
Animal;
Bird;
Colour;
Pop Group;

etc, etc. Then after choosing a letter or just sticking your finger in a book and seeing which letter is there you have to all try and find a Boys name, Girls name, etc beginning with that letter.

When everyone has finished, and it is up to you if you put a time limit on things or not, you each read out your first answer. People who have a unique answer to the rest score 2 points - people who have the same as someone else score 1 and if you haven't got an answer you score nothing!

You can make this game as educational or as silly as you want - I mean I remember playing it with drunken adults once and we included things like swear words, alcoholic drinks, and worse but I remember playing with my mum and dad and siblings and we had to name things like trees and rivers.

You can also choose whether or not you have a predetermined amount of rounds, ie, after five letters you round up all scores and see who is best at Alphadarchy!

Just be careful though as I have not known a game of this where someone hasn't either tried to enter a word in after play has stopped, (after hearing another person's answer where they have had none), or someone just saying the answer without having written it down, usually, again, copied from someone else after they haven't thought of one themselves and there is nearly always altercations regarding what is and isn't construed as a correct and proper answer.

Enjoy!

The game's called What IF? You will need a couple of bowls, strips of paper and various pens or pencils. Have everyone take a strip of paper and write a random "what if" question on it (ex: What if you found the dog wearing high heels?"). The more absurd the question the funnier it is. Then return all questions to one bowl. Mix it up and have everyone draw out a question. Then have them write their answer on a seperate strip of paper. Put answers in other bowl, mix and draw. Then, one by one, each person reads the question they drew and the answer that they drew. You can get some extremely hilarious combinations! We play it at family gatherings and it keeps everyone roaring for hours.

Twister really gets the family involved otherwise you can play the post it note game. You take a post it note think of a famous person and write it on the note, then stick it to anothers forhead...tka eit in turns to ask yes or no questions and guess when you think you know,the first to guess wins its good fun and throw in crisps,chocolate and pop. For adults to play get the beers going,you can play cards,charades,playstation and any other console games or even hide and seek,a-z (writing letters down and thinking of about six things with that letter all through the alphabet)ghost stories and even things like you say part of a story and you take it in turns it takes story telling to a whole new level. hope i helped.

Pictionary - basically you get a heap of paper, pick a subject like films or books, then take it in turns to choose one. You have to draw it on the paper but aren't allowed to write any words or speak in any way. The other player(s) must then guess - the one who gets it write has the next go. There isn't really a winner either unless you work out a points based system, which eradicates arguments.
