I want to get a higher resolution, because everything's so big. I also want High Color. And I tried the slider thing in Display, I can't use it. I change it by clicking Control Panel>Display>Resolution>Advanced>Adapter>List of Modes

You didn't state what monitor or video card you have. It is possible the card/monitor you have does not support the resolution/color depth you are trying to use.

Set it to the 256 option ,Apply,then reboot.
Go back to display settings again and the other options should be there to choose 32 bit.
Providing your Video card is capable of higher settings.

You probably need to install the proper drivers, go to your laptop's manufacturer website and check for video drivers, update them and try it again from Display.
