The anticipation of going up the lift hill is what makes your nervous. You pull out of the loading station, and you begin this looooong and slooooow climb to the top. Often times it is loud, and it adds to your anxiety. If you are afraid of heights, and it sounds like you are, you can be intimidated when you look around and notice how high you are and then you realize that you are still climbing. Coasters are designed to do this, and that is what makes them so fun! :)
This is a normal feeling. Not everyone likes this kind of feeling. If you hear noises, that is actually a good thing, that is because of a safety feature designed to keep trains from rolling backwards in the event that a train is stopped on the lift hill. The best thing for you to do is try to relax, and bring a friend with you, and talk their ear off during the trip up the lift hill. That will help distract you.

Cuz Sandusky, Ohio Rocks with the M-Force, the Raptor and Gemini.
The lift hill is just the anticipation. You know its happening but theres no way you can stop it. Its like a good climax to an excellent book. You know its coming, but you can't stop it.
On the M-Force, the anticipation is all in the lift hill. The longer the wait, the better the anticipation and climax and scaring your pants off. I rode the M-force after a rain storm, fastest and wettest ride of my life! The rain made everything slick. Enjoy Cedar Point!

Because it shakes and pounds and makes a bunch of noise from the ratches and sounds like it is coming apart. Actually, the rachet noise is the safest part as it is proof that if the chain breaks, you are not going to race backwards down the hill. On the other hand, I hate roller coasters and got sick when I rode them, so I don't any more. Besides $45 a person for a day at the park (6 Flags) is absurd.

ok, just because it's "only" 100 ft doesnt mean it's "not that bad"......there is a launch hill before the drop......the launch is fast and it gains more speed as it goes down the hill. it is a very low possiblility that the coaster train would fall off of the tracks, and the ride wouldnt be open if it did that. you will not feel the inversions as much because of g-forces. it will feel more like going up a hill then down or you being pushed into your seat. keep riding roller coasters and you will LOVE the stomach feeling when you get used to it. you WILL see an inversion as you go....close your eyes before you go through the inversion......if you are too scared (cause the maverick goes through inversions after inversion),, ride a different roller coaster before riding that.....ride top thrill dragster as it will conquer all of your above listings.....there is a drop, stomach feeling, heights, and no inversions....after that you would wanna ride everything

I believe you're scared of a feel of what it's like to hear the big cracking sound at the lift hill. It's kind of like your heart does get started to ramble as you give a shot to guess how I would be like in a couple of minutes. After climbing up to the top, the big fear of the heights or the air floaters await you. That means you'll scream out loud in a few minutes from the most scariest part.

I have anxiety issues, and i get scared over and over again everytime that i go to cedar point. It took me till i was 23 to go on the demon drop. The biggest fear for me is heights so that explains why i get scared of the life hill but once the hill is done it is a huge release and everything is okay and usually i am okay for the rest of the day you just have to pick the worst one....do it first and then you should okay. Good luck and don't have a panic attack

You're scared u might fall out because you're not always that tight. You get excited to go down and u feel like u are going to go way back, just relax and just find thing that will take your mind off of the lift hill

I'm guessing that you are scared of the lift hill because you are afraid the chain might break and you will plummet back down. Also, you could be scared that you will get stuck. Just tell yourself that you can do it and you'll be fine. If you are riding with someone, ask them for a suggestion on what to do, like ask them what they do if they are scared and what they tell themselves. Just stay calm, close your eyes, and you'll be fine.

You're feeling the anticipation for the drop. It's normal and everyone feels it, to different degrees. You should go on a non-lift hill ride, like the dragster, wicked twister, or the maverick. I can't remember if it has one in the middle, but not at the beginning.
I'm sooo excited, I'm going tomorrow!!!
