Depending on the mood.
When i feel a bit lahdidah, purple and orange goes together just fine. Like the nail polish i have on right now.
And it wouldnt be a first if you served me orange and grape carbonated drink and i mix it up to drink =P

Not as much as I like a paler or bright orange with other colors--beige, off-white or flat black.
Of course a dark purple goes only with black or ivory or medium blue--it's a very noticeable color

it depends on what u see it, how its mixed up, which orange and which purple...
actually im wearin the cutest top ever right now and its orange with some purple in it, SO DAMN CUTE and looks sooo gooood...so it needs some taste ;)

I can't stand the color orange. Purple isn't really that bad of a color, although it isn't my favorite. Putting them both together makes me want to barf!!!!

They are opposites on the color wheel, so technically, they are "contrasting" colors and are presumed to go well together. There are lots of variables--shade, intensity, etc. that should be considered.
