I attended a job interview last friday and from my perspective, i think it was bad as i couldn't control my nerves and i stuttered when i was asked some questions. I'v been so depressed as a result of my performance. Do i still have a chance of getting this job? Is there hope for me?

I don't think that stuttering is cause for not hiring someone as long as the words you were saying were intelligent. If you didn't sound the way you wanted at least you know this now and if you don't get the job chalk it up to experience. If you don't get called back sit down with a friend or family member and practice the interview again. Let them ask you questions and that will give you a chance to think how you would like to answer, calm yourself and give an intelligent, calm response. We've all messed up interviews...just means it wasn't the right job. Work on your interview skills, (speaking, content of answers, handshake, looking interviewer in the eye) and you will ace the next one. Good luck!!

I think you still have a chance. Most potential employers will make allowances for nerves. It is quite a nerve wracking experience, especially if it's for that dream job. Don't be depressed. Most of us have been there before!

If you are still worried why not give them a quick follow up call, asking how they thought you'd done etc. You could then make a joke about how nervous you were. Good luck!

There is ALWAYS hope.

If not this job, then another one. Sometimes we miss out on one job only to find that the next one suited us better anyways.

It is all good practice as we face an interview. Either way, there is info at this site that will help quell the nerves in your next interview and help you get some sleep in the meantime.

You might have a chance still, but, You should review what you did wrong and practice for the next interview. There are alot of jobs out there if you do not get this one.

Write a note thanking him/her for their time. Tell her you really want the job and promise to work hard to learn and grow. Thank him/her again. Maybe you can mention you were a bit nervous because you just want the job so badly. Then wait a few days and call and follow-up to make sure they got the note. Then just wait and hope. Don't keep calling. You don't want to appear desperate. And if you don't get it, move on and try again for another job. Actually, just keep trying and trying. Don't wait to find out if this happens. Who knows? Maybe you will get more than one offer!

Most employers do second interviews if they are interested in someone. Maybe your resume was enough for them to overlook your nervous behavior (which I'm sure they see all the time).

If you're qualified, they'll call back.

There is hope. Keep thinking optimistically. Just because you stuttered as you talked doesn't mean your stupid. It just means your nervous. It won't affect you as you do real work in the work place.
