Which reminds me... when was the last time Jews or Israelis rioted over such cartoons?

Because Muslims think that they are special. I agree with you 100 percent. It's like Muslims can do things (like drawing cartoons for instance) but if anybody else does it God help them because you have hurt their poor Muslim feelings. It is just hypocrisy.

I've read some of these answers and there may be one aspect that has not been mentioned. You have to consider the areas where these riots happened. They were in countries that not so long ago were fairly isolated. What I mean is, the average muslim there did not see much of anything from other countries. Being isolated they have little tolerance of opposing opinions because they've never heard them before. As technology has spread, these people now have access to media from other nations and are shocked by what they see and hear. When you have lived for a long time in a certain atmosphere, it is blasphemy to hear someone condemn or make fun of it.

Unfortunantly, people are so busy trying to "understand" the "peaceful" religion of Islam that they forget to check the koran for what it actually says. How about this: Then when the Sacred Months have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (Jews - see V.82) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salât (Keep up prayer - Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât ( - pay the poor-rate), then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. So tolerant, isn't it? It's time to stop trying to understand these radicals and let them know we want nothing to do with their narrow views. 4.89 : They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper. Now this isn't all Muslims, but check out this quote: "There may be moderate Muslims, but Islam itself is not moderate. There is no difference between Islam and Islamic fundamentalism. At most there is a difference of degree but not of kind." -- Ibn Warraq, executive director of the Institute for the Secularization of Islamic Society I'll leave you with this jem of a quote: "Don't be so open minded that your brain falls out"

Because their brains have been so warped to hate anything non-Muslim that they just can't help but want to kill over the stupid cartoons. When people are willing to kill over pictures or words in a cartoon, then they should not be allowed to live amongst other humans. If a murderer in the US was killing over cartoons, he would be considered insane or punished with life in prison or death. Either way, he would not be allowed to live amongst "normal, rational humans". He would be thought of by most of society as sub-human. What is the difference between somebody like that and these Muslims?

Decisions made related to religious dogma are not rational as they are based, in the case of the major relgions, on the contents of books that are belived to be true on faith alone. The practitioners of these religions feel that other religions are invalid beliefs and, therefore, unworthy of respect. This sort of thinking is not limited to Muslims.

You're over-generalizing one specific incident.....

Muslims as a whole don't get upset over cartoons. You don't see daily riots every time the comic strips come out, or every time there's an op-ed political cartoon.

Many Muslims did get upset at a picture of Mohammed, which happened to be in cartoon form, because their particular interpretation of their religion says that it is forbidden to make images of Mohammed.

And Jews rarely riot over anything any more -- they've had 5500+ years as a religion to become mellow.

It's just the "younger" religions -- Christianity which is in its late teens and Islam which is just entering its teens -- which get all rebellious and riled up over what others do.

If you remember that most of the Islamics that will act out their fears and hatreds have the emotional maturity of a five-year-old if all starts falling into place.

Everything upsets these people.

When they are upset they lash out. People die. They do it to each other if they can't get to anyone else.

Living near Islamics is like having a nest of wasps inside the house. No matter what you do...you're going to suffer eventually. The only solution is to get rid of those wasps.

One should remember that Muslims whole heartedly respects and honours Prophet Eisa Alih Salaam [Jesus Chris] (PUH) and Prophet Moosa Alih Salaam [Moses], (PUH) equally as they respects and honour Prophet Mohammed. (PUH). Do Christians and Jews dare to do the same, with their Prophet.
