a girl from school has made a msn acount and has pretended to be me.she has also made an email acount for me without me knowing.so that means all my friends have mailed me without me seing it!
is this against the law?
and can i tell the police?

It's called fraud when you pretend to be someone you aren't.

It definitely is illegal.

If you can prove that it was her she can get in trouble.
(you need proof though not just "well someone told me it was her")

It isn't identity theft. That's when you take someones social security number, credit card numbers, bank accounts, ect. ect.

It is a form of Identity Theft. Also, you may be in some danger. I suggest you file a police report and consult an attorney. Most attorneys consult for free. It sounds to me as though you have a Stalker, and that is quite dangerous. Also, let your school counselor know what is going on, as well as your parents.

Yes! It is Identity theft and it is a federal offense. You should go to the police and tell them you want to press charges for identity theft. They will probably just scare the crap out of her but thats all it should take to make her stop.
