If any of you like minded people out there have every seem Waterboy (a movie made and based in Louisiana), then let me tell you: That movie is a perfect example of how some of the people act down here in this state.

I know this one girl who talks just like Bobby. well, make that several people. the people in my hometown of Atlanta are country too, but we are smart country people.

First off, I would like to say that such a question that you posted here seems very irresponsible of you. You probably didn't mean to be offensive, but indeed your question contains a number of things that have already offended people. May I point out some of them?

1) To base a nature of a people on a Hollywood movie is not the wisest thing to do. A movie is what it is: A MOVIE. It's for the sake of entertainment, and the fact that you're using a COMEDY film to justify your stance on the way a people act is not very academic of you.

2) If you claim that these people are "stupid" in your eyes, perhaps you should check yourself in the mirror once in a while and rethink that. The only thing I see something stupid that is relative to this question is the question itself!

3) By making a hasty conclusion on a nature of a people based on a few incidents is a very immature thing to do. I may not be from Louisiana, but I am pretty damn sure that there are a lot of smart people there, just like everywhere. Just because you met a few "stupid" people in one location does not mean ALL of the people there act as "stupid" as them.

Sorry if I may seem harsh on you, but I felt like it was neccessary for me to point them out.

I used to live in Louisiana. My mother also lived there for a time. We both hated it. The people were painfully stupid. It's a harsh generalization that obviously isn't true fit everyone, but it's hard to defend the people of Louisiana when nearly everyone you deal with is a moron. My sister was stationed in LA and she also noticed how slow the people were (civilian and military). I have relatives from my dad's side of the family that live there, and they're not the brightest group of people. You must be on to something when 3 different people living in three different areas encounter the same level of stupidity. Even my own family is part of the example.

They are not stupid. Some of them are too poor to be able to afford to move to a region that is less prone to floods and storms. And besides both can happen anywhere. Some don't even have a car; they can't afford it. Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the nation.

People from Louisiana are not stupud. I'm from Louisiana, I've grown up here all my life in Ponchatoula, Springfield and Loranger. I don't even really have an accent and I am definitely not stupid. I'm actually quite smart. Also, just for future references, the water boy is an over exaggerated stereo type of people from Louisiana. I have never heard anyone who talked like they did on the Waterboy. Anyone, no matter where they are from, are going to sound like complete, ignorant idiots when they are uneducated. You honestly sound pretty stupid for believing such an ignorant stereotype

About as stupid as the voters in the city of Detroit in re-electing Coleman Young for numerous terms and recently re-electing Kwame Kilpatrick after numerous scandals. Those two have succeeded in making Detroit the wonder that it is today! (Insert sarcasm here). And what about Washington D.C. re-electing Marion Berry after all of his illegal dealings? New Orleans and Louisiana are not the only places where we should implement I.Q. tests for voters.

For one who most likely says "Don't stereotype me", you're not doing such a fine job of practicing what you preach.
