During the time I was there we did things; I paid my way, and even paid for lunch twice, for all of us; in the end I bought Groceries and gave $20 for gas. Yet comments made me fell bad, am I over reacting?

I see this all the time; question the comments, when they are made.
You did not post what was said and I understand. If it bothered you it may be something better left unsaid. I suggest make your piece, by confronting the person next time, but make sure it is in front of everyone. If you pull the person aside it will leave others to assume the comment was more fact.
Play the card that are dealt, because you can't go back to the last hand.

It would help if you would post some things that were said, but I realize your dilemma. I have been there. It doesn't seem that no matter what you do it's never good enough. If you did all of what you said, then you paid your way and then some and just ignore those remarks. I know this may seem harsh but it may be you just need to stay away from those people. They bring you down no matter what you do and its not worth it. There are too many people out there that will appreciate you and what you do.

It sounds like they font appreciate you. I just learned that lesson a little while ago and it took me a few years. I know it hurts but get up, dust yourself off. Confront your friends about the comments that they said to you and let them know you were offended. If they really care about you they will be understanding and will fix the problem. If not then find some friends that are as caring and wonderful as you!

What comments made you feel bad? You sound like a really nice young lady. Don't let what people say get to you. It took me 50 years to learn that lesson. :-)
