Destination is the centre (the goal of the journey) and the direction is the radius or the path. The same city of Hyderabad is reached from different places by travelling in different directions.
All roads lead to Rome is a famous saying and means same.

Destination represents the end objective regardless of the path traveled. One who viewed life in these terms would be prone to "any means necessary" and " the end justifies the means" style of thought.
Direction takes a more path conscious view, where the steps leading up to achieving the objective are of equal or more importance. These are people who take a "its not if you win or lose but how you play the game" and "The journey is half the fun"

Destination and direction may be called strategy and tactics. Destination (strategy) is where you want to be. Direction (tactics) is how you get there. Martial use of a harmless question. Scary ain't it?
