The camera is extremely uncomfortable, but do they REALLY need to have a reporter AND cameraman go in, too?

Yep, I've had one. But, how did you manage to only have a reporter and cameraman? They sent a traffic helicopter in when I had mine, and it wasn't even rush hour! OWIE!

I had something like that, but in my case the looked up through the entire large intestines. They put me under, but halfway through the scope hit the wall of my intestine and the pain was so intense that it woke me up. The worse pain I ever felt. Don't worry, that won't happen with you. A sigmoidoscopy isn't that invasive.

Yup, I have been on both ends of that ole scope! lol I think the prep is much worse than the test, tho.

I had a colonoscopy!! And yes the camera IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE!!! I will not do it again!! It's also very embarrasing!
