Solve one side.
Correct the corners.
Correct the middles.
Work your way down.

The trick is to find the movement pattern to be able to switch two squares. There are various web sites that can help you with that. You will not find an exact answer since all starting positions require a different method to solve.

Blimey - I used to be able to do it as a kid.

From what I remember, you need to get a face finished first, then align the top layer of colour so that it matches. Then turn it so that the top layer and colours match the centre square. Then you get the two colours either side of the centre square to match. Finally (and this is the hardest bit) turn it upside down and work to get the last layer complete.

there are seven steps and if u buy a rubiks cube from argos then it comes with an instruction booklet on how to do it
