Why when people are talking about a teenager...they talk about all teens in general?
Do you think all teens go around doing drugs and having sex?
I don't!
What about the ones who are actually remotely desent...who would never do drugs and never have sex before they were married?
I don't think all teenagers are like that...it's just a stereotype!

Sometimes people have the same attitudes when talking about teens because they don't know their teen or can't "deal" with the issues that are in their lives. This is sad because teens are our future and should be considered for all their input about life. I find them realistic,caring,artistic,and beleivers of a whole new world that us as adults can't comprehend. Who better to have at our sides but those same teens "all grown up?" A determined parent is going to see teens for who they are. Stereo-typing is going to result in only one thing in life...distance! I have a 33,28, and 16 yr. old sons and I would be NO-WHERE in life if I had these other peoples attitudes about teens. Listen, learn, love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Whoever generalizes teens like that is a moron. I was never that kind of teenager. I'm 19 now so I'm in the last teen year and I'm still not like that. Many adults are the ones who go around having sex and doing drugs. It's not a teenage thing, it's a human experimental thing. People try things out and live on the age, not just teenagers.
Idiots.
EDIT: And there's a difference between being a sexaholic and your average promiscuity. Sexaholics are a much bigger issue because thet are addicted. Promiscuous people just like to go around and have sex just for the fun of it.
Don't get the two mixed up. I think that the adults you are talking about are saying that teens these days are promiscuous, not sexaholics. There's a BIG difference.

I am also a teenager and hate the sterotypes people put on us!! Sure a few teens are druggies and sexoholics but what the adults are forgetting is all the adults that are druggies and sexohilics.

Teenagers aren't all druggies and sexoholics any more than old people are all senile. We're all individuals. The problem is, we usually only hear about the bad and weird stuff people do on the news.

I never thought that. While some may rightfully fall under the stereotypical umbrella, it's not fair to judge all people based on the actions of a few.

hell no, I would never think that. Whoever thinks that, was probably doing that themselves way back in the day.
It`s a stereotype and nothing else. It`s like when we talk about old people....can`t drive, are slow...not all are like that. I could go on, but you get the point.

alotta ppl at my high skool are. statistically speakin about 10% of all ppl go to their sophmore year after freshmen will lose their virginity but only at my skool
