My daughters 91 Civics A/C has been giving me a hard time lately as I have repalced the old r-12 with r -134 and am only getting warm air. I did the same thing on my 88 GL-10 and am getting nice cold air. Does the evaporator need replaced? Does the compressor need replaced?

Did you put in new seals? The kind made for r-134a?

The old seals will be destroyed by r-134a

If the compessor is engaging, and the eveporator is getting cold, then it may be a stuck "blend door" in the heater box not closing off the heater core all the way, or not opening all the way on the A/C side of the box. (under the dash)

Since you did it yourself i presume that you had the right equipment. Did you do a leak test to make sure there are no leaks.. Maybe you have a bad fuse/relay.

Check to see if the compressor is kicking in..... if not check your fuses and relays....
