and then lastly state which party you normally vote for.

The purpose of this question is to see how democrats and republicans on here can be honnest about the pros and cons of president Bush, or they can only resort to Bush bashing or Bush deification.

The two things that Bush has done for the American people are, he has made people wake up, and see that absolute power corrupts, absolutely, and he has gotten more people actively interested in government, and making sure that they go out and vote

I can go on all week about the bad things, but the two major things that come to mind are, lying to get us into a war in Iraq, and he totally screwed up the relief efforts regarding hurricane Katrina. There are many, many, many more. For the top twenty point your web browser to: http://www.bushlies.net/

Positive
1) He lowered taxes across the board for all Americans, rich and poor.
2) He returned military spending to where it was during the pre-Clinton era.

Negative
1) He didn't veto the minimum wage increase, which anyone who has taken any extensive economics classes knows helps no one and hurts the middle class.
2) He carried the war into Iraq and basically forgot about Afghanistan, which is where the worst problems are.

I normally vote Republican, but I'm switching to Libertarian soon because of how badly the NeoConservatives have mangled my party and chased out the true Conservatives.

Good:

The economy. President Bush has fostered one of the best economies our nation has ever seen. The economic reality I’m talking about, and about which I’ve written on numerous occasions, is how well our country is doing economically thanks to the hard work of the American people, the innovation and competition our free market encourages, as well as the Bush tax cuts that helped spur 5½ years of economic growth.

Lower tax rates have increased economic growth to such a degree that we have been breaking tax-revenue records.

Since the spring of 2003, the economy has had average growth of over 3%, 8.2 million jobs have been created, and the inflation rate has stayed low. The current unemployment rate, 4.6%, is a full percentage point below what it averaged during the 1990s, and there have been 47 consecutive months (almost four years) of job growth. In the last three years, workers’ salaries have risen by $1.2 trillion, or $8,000 per worker, and consumer confidence recently reached its highest level in almost six years.

People have pointed out that journalists were trumpeting economic statistics during the Clinton administration that were not as good as those we have now, hence the “greatest story never told.”

His foreign policy towards India and China are aimed at bring these two up and coming economic super powers into the world community as friends of the United States instead of enemies. This is important because in 20 years these two countries will be serious world powers and not being aligned with them will place a HUGE strain on the world economy and global situation. This policy will basically keep us as the world super power for decades to come.

And I have to say that protecting us from terrorism is one hell of a good thing. We had a terrorist attack against our nation's citizens almost every year under Clinton (and previous presidents as well). Since 9/11...... none. That says something.

Bad:
His supporting of the Joint Dem/Rep sponsored "Amnesty Bill." I think most Americans, including myself, want illegal aliens out of our country.

I'm honestly at a loss on another bad thing. I've supported most of his decisions up to this point because they are in line with my own. I'm open to learn more, aside from anything having to do with the War on Terror. I've been in the Middle East for 4 years now and have developed my own opinion based on what I've SEEN and LEARNED myself. It will be very difficult to change my mind on this.

I think in his ridiculous run in the office Bush has done nothing good. He's brought us to war-just like his war pig father, put the country back in debt and averted every concern the US people have! So easy to displace all the blame on Saddam Hussein when the Americans are questioning everything he's doing! It think it's a damn shame he got voted in for the first term let alone a second! I'm a democrat and don't understand why anyone who isn't doesn't convert after this bullsh*t!

I remember that 300 dollar tax return check was pretty convenient when he first got into office. My standard of living is much better now, then before Bush took office.
Bad things, I know he raised taxes on single people such as myself to "encourage" marriage. Oh, and travelling has been much more difficult coming in and out of the country, becuase of the Passport rule, and the patriot act.
I consider myself more Liberal, than Conservative, but have views on both sides. I dont vote for a certain party.

I really wish Bush would give me reason not to bash him. Honestly I really do. But it is a simple fact that I cannot think of a single thing that the man has done right. I don't have to think very hard to find things that he's done wrong, but I honestly cannot think of a single thing that he has done right. If that's Bush bashing, I'm guilty.

If people get out more often, they would see there's nothing Bush does that's worth to talk about. All I see is more people die everyday for absolutely nothing.

American should step down their high horses and get with reality. America will go down history as the most hated country in the world thanks to Bush. People must understand that we can't control other people in this world whether is a rich or poor country. No one wants to be controlled.

good
1.tax cuts (insert rich people bashing here)

2.patriot act - if you have nothing illegal to hide then don't complain

bad
1.not providing a decsent border controll policy-without amnesty (please dont bash me becuase i said amnesty)

2.the ever changing reason for the iraq war.-although i personally think the U.N. is a joke, many nations had the right to act against saddam for non-compliance of 13 U.N. resolutions regarding w.m.d.'s

typically vote republican,
although it is a wasted vote in michigan with so many people in detroit dependant on government assistance( thanx for the dependacy issues dem's) hopefully that wasn't too much bashing

2 good: Tax refunds & comic relief
2 bad: Patriot Act & Refuses to strengthen the Borders

I vote for the Constitution Party, because the lesser of the 2 evils is still evil.
