I am the very proud owner of a 1991 camaro. Unfortunatly im not really happy with the way the paint is chipping off of the hood and deck lid. So its time for paint! I have an uncle who can spray the car for me, unfortunatly I have to do all the body work myself. there isnt that much work to do though. it needs stripped and the body needs straightened a little bit. I need to know the exact supplies that I need to strip this car! so somebody help me! Give me a list of supplies that I need to begin sanding down my Camaro and I will be a very happy kid! thanks! have a great day!

First thing first +++++
Wash the car with dawn dish soap - this removes dirt grease and road grime you cant see.

Then strip it with several DA 80 Grit disks

Go over that with the 220 grit to smooth it out.

Next fix all you r problem areas

shoot the car with sealer - primer - then its wet sand time.

You will need large quantities of elbow grease and several grades of wet sandpaper...starting off with a 220 grit and then going to a finer grit for the final sanding...you will then need a tack cloth and any one of several cleaning solutions to be sure there is no residue (fingerprints etc...) on the car.
Then your uncle can prep/tape the car and spray the primer... and guess what? ....more sanding and prep time and then finaly the paint goes on and you guessed it(depending on type of paint) more sanding...this time up to 1000 grit wet paper.... and you will have a beautiful automobile

Go buy a book on it.
There is a lot of information that would take me hours to sit here and type out a list of stuff you will need, and the proper way of doing it.
