Lets say if he successfully defended the title from Randy Orton at SummerSlam... at that point would the WWE let Cena hold the title up to the time he won it? Remember Cena's current reign (his third) started back on September 17, 2006.

Its hard to believe he managed to stay champion this long without a short break along the way, and since the one year mark is that close I would tend to believe the WWE would do so, though I would also expect Cena to drop the belt at any time after 9/17.

If he beats Orton yes. It will be just another way to put him over? A way to make him look better than he actually is again.

Khali sucks. I mean the guy can barely move in the ring. Still nobody beat him until Cena. Then all the sudden in two of the worst title matches ever Cena beats him back-to-back cleanly in title matches. Then they move Khali over to Smackdown, and he is supposed to be unbeatable again.

Really this guy who can't be beat gets a few shots to the leg, and then taps out to STFU?

If they screw Orton Cena will get his 1 year title reign.

WWE has made Cena the top guy in the company, so the fact the he has held the title for the majority of the past three years isn't surprising. They wanted to make him like Austin, its just that the real fans haven't accepted him. Most likely Cena will drop the strap at Summerslam to Orton so a year long reign probably won't happen.

He will definitley drop the title at Summerslam. The ONLY reason WWE is making him is because he wants to make another movie and he can't hold the title while doing so. I think that is wrong because there are many other wrestlers that deserve the WWE title, and Randy Orton is only gonna get it because Cena's gonna leave for a year or so. WWE should realize that the fans aren't taking to him like they did to say Hogan or Austin.

I have no idea if he'll keep it or not. I sure hope not. He hasn't been champion for this long because he's good. He's just been lucky. Besides 1 year as champion isn't exactly a record. Bruno Samartino held it for 7 years 8 months and 1 day. His second reign was 3 years 4 months and 20 days. Bob Backlund held it for 5 years 10 months and 6 days. Hulk Hogan's first reign lasted 4 years and 13 days. Other wrestlers have held it for more than one year.are Pedro Morales and Randy Savage, Hogan's second reign was one day short of a year.

The problem is not with John Cena. The real problem is with his long long long reign as champion. Every good thing has to stop for some time for the starting of the next good thing. I think it's time when Cena should lose his title to anyone. Yes anyone. It doesn't matter who he is but someone has to defeat him.
ENJOY!!!

Agreed and Starred. Oh and Hornswoggle needs to lose the call ASAP. And Cena. And Candice. notice how all WWE's champions can't try against. a minimum of maximum of them. purely reliable champions are CM Punk, MVP, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy.

If he wins at Summerslam which is hopefully impossible. He'll lose the title at Unforgiven.

He will stay as WWE champ. Why? Because Cena is their market at WWE.
