I don't think Aaron was as much of a megalomanic as Bonds, so I don't think he would have used steroids.
Different kind of man with much more honest and ethical different values . . . .
Bond's will always be a loser . . . !

Hank Aaron would have hit about 950 homeruns if he had access to the same steroids that are around today. The only thing that I know of that seemed pretty common back then were pep pills, called greenies. They kind of worked like speed. In Jim Bouton's book "Ball Four," he mentions how easy it was to get these pills and how often players took them. So even in Hank's era there was rampant cheating going on, so don't be fooled.

It hasnt been proven yet that Bonds used steroids illegaly because they were not a banned substance until like 3-4 years ago. But I bet Aaron would have finished with 200 more just like Bonds, 955.

guy, way extra advantageous than 855. He performed a stable component of his profession in a hitters park in Atlanta. He had an incredible abode run swing and became by no ability injured. He had a slew of forty abode run seasons devoid of any drugs. With drugs he could have hit 50-60 or extra in line with annum. i think of in the 900s. additionally bear in mind with Bonds, he performed in an era the place pitching nonetheless hasn't recovered from 2 growth, small ballparks plus being juiced. In Aaron's era devoid of the juice, i think of Bonds could have been a 20 abode runs a year guy. Edit - no longer something irks me extra advantageous than the morons who equate steroid use with greenie use. Apples and oranges. those are the idiots who discover excuses as to why "steroids weren't undesirable."

saturno17 and dj touch on something that is not getting hardly any media notice...Aaron himself (in his autobiography, "If I Had a Hammer") admitted to taking greenies, and his former teammate (and the guy who caught his 715th home run) Tom House has gone on record as saying that steroids and drugs were far more rampant in the 70s than they are today. Having admitted to taking one drug, who's to say Aaron didn't try others?
I've noticed too that everyone seems to hold up Babe Ruth as some kind of saint when it comes to home run records. Given the well-documented accounts of his lifestyle (including heavy drinking), are we to believe that he completely abstained from alcohol during the Prohibition era (1920-1933), when he hit the vast majority of his home runs?
Based on the pitching of the time, and the fact that expansion had not yet diluted that pitching, I don't think that Aaron would have ended up with much more than he did

Only 755. Steroids and HGH will not help anyone hit outrageous amounts of HR's or pitch 100+mph fastballs.
The only benefit Henry Aaron would receive is the ability to heal up from injury faster.

Steroids have been around for a long time...what makes you think he didn't? I would also add, if Hank had access to steroids, he would have had to bat against pitchers with access...essentially equaling the playing field. Because steroids makes all athletes better, right?
