Are we ever going to see the day when you politicians stop playing the race card?

We are all Americans regardless of race color or creed and most of us speak english which is our langauge and you politicians should make law. As a native american I knew I must learn english to be successful and I am proud to say that I did and am successful and living well.I have never received a dime from the goverment nor do I want to. All immigrants should be made to learn english.These illegals should be made to return to their country and come back legally but learn english.You politicians love to talk but do nothing.We can fly to the moon,invade and defeat our enemies but we cannot protect our borders.It appears to me that you are only interested in getting votes and not what is good for our country.I would like to see the day when all americans call themselves Americans and not African Americans etc.You are all afraid of upsetting the blacks and mexicans its pathetic to say the least forget the past and care about the future for all of us.Forget the slavery b/s its long gone

Right on!! unfortunately politicians don't see it that way, they will use any edge they possibly can to get into office, be it the race card, gender card, or religion. and it is ultimately dividing america, there should be law that states that a candidate cannot use tactics like these to gain an edge, maybe then a fair race can be ran

It will take generations before race is no longer a factor.

Too many people -- or their parents -- felt the oppression directly. Until that becomes attenuated, it's going to be an emotional issue for people.

I think it counter-productive to dwell on the past, and I think most of the current activities that people do only drag things out longer -- but that's the reality of the current situation, and wishing it were better is not enough to change it.

We need to take active steps to eliminate discrimination, and that includes eliminating affirmative action, and race-based polls, and everything else that continues to promote the illusion that people can be easily grouped into arbitrary boxes.
