I have health insurance, for now. The insurance company has been sending me information to encourage me to drop out or at least stop insurance on my heart condition. Next year premiums will increase another thousand a year as they have for the last two years if they follow their current pattern. In ten years I won't be on this plan. Either I will get lucky and find a company that is willing to put someone like me on their health insurance plan or I won't have health insurance. I don't know what to do but to hope something changes. A national health insurance plan would solve my problem, but I know that a bunch of selfish bastards don't want that to happen.

Before you decide what to believe on this issue, there is more research to be done. I think we need to find out what really happens in other countries where they have a national health plan. So far the news is not good, but I am not done with my research. I think the real problem is with the Doctor's attitudes and the insurance companies. I don't like the idea of the one who is paying for my health care limiting my choices. That already is happening with our system now. Can you imagine what will happen if the government gets involved in this? Frightening thought!

this 'selfish bastard' is for national health insurance. BUT i want good, HONEST, legislation that is not written by the lobbyists for insurance interests, pharmecutical industries, medical proffesionals, hospitals, lawyers, etc....i feel we have to do something because the cost of medi care/caide is already a bankrupter...oh well GL to you and yours! hang in there, maybe it will all work out somehow.

Before buying health insurance, have you compared plans offered by multiple insurance carriers. This is a common mistake people do.

Apply for a quote and compare plans offerred by multiple carriers.

National health insurance is very costly. Somebody has to pay for the expenses involved.

The issue is whether it's right to force people to participate in a health insurance program when they don't want to.

You want to -- great. And I think everyone who wants to participate should be able to get affordable health care.

But if someone doesn't want to participate, and the govt takes their taxes away for a program they'll never use -- that's just another example of govt-mandated theft.

OK lets say we get.
But there isn't enough money to cover everyone.
And the state starts a lottery,.
Or
First come first served.
Or
Most critical come first and THEY decide that you're not that critical.
You can see how this could all be a problem.
