why do people have such a problem with profiling?

if 90% of terrorists are men from a certain part of the world why not pay closer attention to them?

if 0% are 90+ year old women, why search them at an airport? to make it look fair to someone?

sorry if you think it is discriminatory but it is not.

when pregnant women start blowing up planes - check them!
when priests start blowing up planes - check them!
when rabbis start blowing up planes - check them!

until then, check the ones that HAVE THE HISTORY OF DOING IT IN THE RECENT PAST!!!

Profiling is a good thing when you are trying to prevent bad things from happening. What many people do not know(and that includes the person asking this question) is that profiling is used to prevent other bad things too. Not just terrorism. drug mules are also profiled. profiling is used to understand and prevent crime in the general sense.This fact is not common knowledge. That is the reason why many people think its bad.

Now coming to the rest of your justification abt why you are asking the question. European nations have had a track record of colonising other parts of the world. until 10 years ago Hong kong was ruled by the british. Germans have been the key players in two world wars.If everyone looks at europeans with suspicion and prejudice then the world cannot progress. Richard reid, jose padilla , Timothy Mcveigh were not of middle eastern descent.

Umm obviously you aren't a person that researches stuff before he acts a question. Didn't you hear about the American...who was a white male and joined with Al Qaeda. He released a video for Al Qaeda wearing full Muslim-Terrorist attire saying major cities would be attacked next.
So is Al Qaeda only terrorists of Middle Eastern decent? No.

So if 20 people out of millions of people of a certain group blow something up it's ok to treat all those other millions like terrorists and common criminals?

A few years ago after terrorist attacks carried out by white people, do you remember all white people being automatically treated like terrorists? I know I don't. So why is it different this time?
