The fact that I was here and all the things I've done. The people's lives I have touched and simple acts of caring and kindness are what make all the difference in the world. I would also be leaving behind my children who have good ethics, morals and values to carry on. The small things are just as important as the big ones and what is more important making a difference in someones life...one person at a time.

My contribution is, paying monthly contributions to help children in need. Helping friends out of trouble and being there for them when they need support during a crisis. Some poetry. I do think about trying to make the World a better place that is why I contribute to charity. I just wish those people, ie. Bill Gates, would use all those billions that they don't need to help the third World.

i think helping my daughter grow into a smart, self-confident individual, who is educated in basic knowledge but also in humanity issues , has made the world a better place. i feel if each parent would try to provide a non-violent, non-racist , non-sexist, accepting upbringing, society as a whole would change for the better , teach the children that the negative things and attitudes and actions are just wrong and not acceptable
it still shocks me that we allow the hitting of children in this country, even if you try to make it sound pretty and call it spanking! i speak out against it whenever i can, it is not a "cure all" and gives the message that certain forms of violence are ok, and there are plenty other techniques that work just as well, nothing works 100% of the time,

Every one of us, every day, make an unconcious contribution to the world,s progress and continuation.
You don,t have to be a great philosopher or world decision maker. Just being you, the good inner you will be enough to ensure, the world goes on. However in dying today, you won,t be able to personally carry on, your normal everyday good work.
But maybe, just maybe, your lasting memory, will help others to carry on your good work. In they doing so, they may find, their, good inner self! Wow. Did I compile this.?
You obviously asked, a good quality question! Well done.

Just live my life the best I can. Bring up three children to be good citizens. I just hope the good things I've done will cancel out the bad if there is a day of judgement.

I have worked as a volunteer on a mental health help line so I think would would have made a difference to the people I talked to, although a small one I was there for them when they wanted to talk to someone.
Oh and I give money regularly to a NSPCC.

Good question. I give you a star.
Unfortunately, most people die without accomplishing their purpose in life - we all were born for a purpose.

My hope is that each day, I don't miss an opportunity to help someone and that the person I help, pass it on.

As a lifeguard in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, when I was a young man, I saved at least two lives through timely intervention, hauling them out of the pool at the YMCA. I don't expect any applause nor honors for it. I was doing my job.

As an EMT and part of a volunteer fire/rescue team in Bethel, Alaska, I may have saved a life or few. It was my job.

As an Alaskan National Guards soldier, I participated in providing security during the Big Lake Fire of May-June 1996. We helped to prevent further looting and mayhem, and otherwise kept law and order per our orders.

As an Air Assault trained personnel clerk in the 101st Airborne Division, I served two battalions through the PAC, the 626th and the 101st Aviation Regiment. Then I reclassed, retrained, and went to serve in the Third Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, Georgia. I achieved the rank of Corporal, though later I was busted down to SPC in an action as a result of failing to properly discipline a soldier who was out of line. I stayed in the service for a few more years, serving in Kosova, Kuwait, and Iraq.

I was the driver for the A & O platoon leader in an Engineer Battalion which participated in the invasion and blitz to Baghdad. Our battalion, the Junglecats, served honorably out of Camp Raider at the Government Complex adjacent to the Stadium. I would like to think that my abilitites to understand and speak some Arabic helped a little in easing our mission toward success. We did not lose a single man during our stay in Iraq. For this I thank G-d, and praise the Lord Jesus Christ.

Since then I have taught ESL in South Georgia, taught as a substitute teacher in three counties, and read for recording for the blind in my home state of Illinois. Also, I assist in cat rescue in McHenry County, a suburb nw of Chicago.

I have introduced at least two people to the world of theatre who are now well on their way to being professional performers.
