I absolutely agree with you,. Unless of course, you were keeping large cats, wolves, bear, etc - that I don't agree with unless you operate a rescue facility. I get strange looks and such all the time because I have reptiles. I have 4 large full grown iguanas, and several smaller reptiles and amphibians. I have had in the past - Savannah Monitor lizards, and a Nile Monitor. I'd love to add a hedgehog to my family. I don't have the proper habitat for one right now, so I will wait until I'm ready. We already have 7 cats, 3 dogs, 2 goats, 10-15 reptiles and amphibians, 5 birds, over 100 fish, adn 2 mice. You should see the looks I get from people when I mention that I have pet mice! There are people out there though that obtain these "exotic" pets and then either don't want to care for them after the "Shock value' of owning one has worn off, or just don't take care of them properly. That is how I ended up with most of my family. I've adopted uncared for, unwanted pets from other households for about the last 10 years or so. Yes, you end up inheriting someone else's problem child, but that's a chance you take. Good luck to you and I'm glad to see someone else who gets funny looks because of their pets! (mine are like my children)

Good luck. I used to have wild rabbits in my garden every night. I used my night vision goggles once and saw dozens in there! I tried everything....human hair, habanero powder, fox urine (waste of money), tin cans, sprinklers, owl statues, fake snakes. Nothing worked. So my husband would go out and night and shoot them.

try a sub-terranian fence around your garden or any parts of it you don't want the rabbit to enter.
