How the US fought the Taliban, and now seeks to pick a fight with Iran because they are/were oppresive, radical theocracies,.... yet the crazed, overzealous bible-thumpers in the government are demanding that United States form all international and domestic policies on thier narrow, hateful, profane interpretation of christianity?

Do they honestly believe a radical Christian theocracy is any different than an Islamic one??

How can they justify this hypocrisy?

I'm a non-practicing catholic, and I've read the bible cover to cover many times.

If Iran wanted to take the U.S. out, they have had more than ample opportunity and means to do so since 1978.

Not going to happen, because they can't hold their own country together.
That being said, they seem more than content to be merely a thorn in our side.

National Socialist:
And just where in my question did I state that Islam was a "religion of peace?" Or Christianity for that matter?

I've read many religious works out of a desire to understand other cultures.

And this is the truth I have found:
organized religion is a joke, and is the downfall of humanity. Period.

LOL, Love this question. While we trash Muslims we have 'lock and load' Christians. How long are we going to let the elite trick us into fighting over religion. Thousands of years should be enough. We need to wake up!!!!!

Actually, no I don't find it strange at all.... when anyone threatens my very existence and right to life I want my government to protect me from them. No matter how loudly the Left whines and puts up paper tigers and straw men like a "Christian theocracy" which doesn't exist, or has ever existed in this country... not even a little bit...

We might be fighting the Taliban now but Reagan and Bush supported them for a lot of years!

The rest I think you are right on! And they can't, but they will try!

this hypocrisy has been around for a long time it is the same as an illiterate white supremest calling Marten Luther King stupid. religious beliefs can not be apart of government and when you have someone as unwilling to admit when he has been wrong and says he personally talks to god while running the mightiest country in the world you have a problem.

They can't justify it, it's just that an overwhelming number of people in this country are Christians and think it's ok for them to indirectly impose their religion on the rest of us.

I went to catholic school for nine years, don't believe a word about their religion even though I was raised in the catholic church. Religion kills, has for centuries. To me there is no worse hatred than religious hatred. I'll kill you in the name of god for what I believe. How sick is that?
