I've been using broadband Internet since a year ago, so the magic has rubbed off a little, but I remember how it felt when I first got it!

Everything was fast, fast, fast, and there's no turning back now, CG! :D

My crew went broadband 6 years ago at least. That was when we were still living in the 21st century. In late 2005 we moved from a high-tech region to the Ozarks. We were forced to go back to dialup because our new rural digs were in the remaining 20% of the U.S. population that had NO viable/affordable access to broadband. Reverting to dialup was seriously like stripping gears. I cannot begin to fully describe just how horrible this technological blow was.

Our tiny little township (< 250 residents) finally got DSL in November of last year. Sure, it may not be a partial T, but D@MN!!! It's so undeniably true that you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Broadband isn't only very necessary for maintaining communication (read: sanity, intellectual stimulation, etc.) with the rest of the modern world. Broadband can be better than s3x at times. It certainly lasts longer. ;oD

Actually I kind of felt like an idiot. Many friends had been trying to get me to switch over my access from dial-up. But I kept putting it off. Then one day a beautiful young girl from my local cable company came to my door, and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. After my broadband was installed, some how the web was new all over again.
Take that antiquated dial up providers!

To be honest, I had SBC DSL first that was faster. I did live right next door to the SBC fiber optics junction though and the local police station was between us. Don't ask me how with the bandwidth and all supposedly to be higher, the SBC was faster by far than this local broadband I get from the cable company.
