A lot of those "send an email to everybody in the address book" viruses include code to prevent it's being discovered by most antivirus programs, and it sounds like you've picked up one somewhere.
Go to www.ewido.com and do it's online scan. It takes a little while, but it'll usually catch a lot of stuff other programs won't.
If it were me, I'd also go to trendmicro (don't know the URL off the top of my head, but I'm you could google it) and do their online scan, as well. Again, it takes a little time...but is also a good one. (Between it and ewido, they should find any virus if there's one there.)
Good luck!

A few months back I had a similar kind of problem.I don't know whether I should be posting this. But, since your situation sounds similar to mine would be glad to help you out.
A few months back I installed a program Called as "Key Scrambler" from the cd that came along with a very popular magazine.
At that time, I thought that this program can hide the keystrokes that I am entering while typing on the net.And I was proven wrong. This program was part of the "Keyloggers" tool. And eventually it hacked into my yahoo, gmail, and msn id's.So, when i started checking my sent box, I started seeing mails that I haven't sent. And for sometime I wondered what was going on?.Eventually I realized this software has hacked my passwords of all the sites that I had my id's on.I eventually uninstalled it. And changed all my passwords on the sites that i had to very complex passwords. And after a few days of observing everything when back to normal.
So in you case, there is every chance that a "Keylogger" has somehow penetrated your mailing sites that has your id and has been using your id to sent spam to known or unknown contacts or sites to carry out DDos Attacks.
Would recommend you to find the program or source, that causing it.And if found to immediately uninstall it.And then change all your passwords to a more complex one......

Hotmail has known to be a bad provider and your account could be hacked and someone is sending e-mails using your account.
I would suggest that you change your e-mail address and use another account with a less likely password or change provider and use someone else, for example Googlemail.
Hope you solve your problem

read them is it a hotmail error send message ? i know of a fewemails being sent to people but it isn't an error message from hotmail.
to test what a hotmail error sending message is send a totally made up email address that def no one would have like drfeguhdbv@hotmail.com and see what you get back if the emails u have are from hotmail check your sent mail box and check your outbox and delete any and maybe check out the hotmail help section on their page.

Yep! Trojan/Worm

1 - Stop clicking on links in emials
2 - Stop sending those "send this to 10 friends"
3 - Stop playhing games with spammers DO NOT EVER click on UnSubscribe in ANY email
4 - Build you a reject list (Rules)
5 - Do the following

Try these and see what they can do for you.

If you think that you have an infection try these programs, ALL
If you want to try different programs, try these.

First and foremost, these are MY opinions and have experienced several machines that had these on them.

Stop using the following software:

I think that it sounds as if your computer might have a Trojan virus, one that emails everyone in your address book. I was once told to put a false email address under A in my address book: Aaaaaaaaa then perhaps aaa@aaaaaa.com. The virus works through your address book and gets completely stuck at A. (I thought it was worth a try, who knows if it works, but what the heck)

More likely than a virus is that some spammers have been spamming using your emailaddress as the faked source, therefor any failed deliveries come back to YOU not them.

known issue, not a lot you can do about it I'm afraid, until people arouind the world STOP buying stuff from spam . . . then it MIGHT begin to stop it.

substitute your password now. do away with McAfee and get a greater antivirus, i prefer to propose Microsoft secure practices necessities. Get Malwarebytes Antimalware and do an entire test purely in case. i'm especially particular that the password substitute is all you opt for yet purely in case. btw MSE and malwarebytes are the two loose.

if you get emails from someone you don't want to go Messages in the top left hand of the screen click on, when it drop down, scroll down to Block Sender click on that and you won't get emails from that sender again, make sure the sender is highlighted.
