Anything is possible, but I'd say impossibility if your periods are regular. A woman ovulates 10-14 days after the first day of her period. You wouldn't have been ovulating.

Best advice, don't have unprotected sex- then you won't have to worry so much about pregnancy or STD's. The only 100% way to avoid pregnancy is to not have sex. There are many forms of protection: pills, spermacides, condoms, IUD's, diaphragms, etc. Be safe :)

It's nearly an impossibility. The variation in your cycle from month-to-month always occurs before ovulation. If you are "late" or "early" with your period, it is because you ovulated late or early that month. The time after ovulation and before your next period (called the luteal phase) is basically consistent from month to month and even from woman to woman. It is HIGHLY unlikely that ovulation would occur close enough to a woman's next period for pregnancy to occur 2 or 3 days before her period starts. This makes sense when you think about what happens during a cycle. After your period and before ovulation, your body is building up the lining of your uterus so that a fertilized egg can implant. Your period is the shedding of that lining, which means there wouldn't be a good environment for implantation - so what point would there be for your body to release an egg near this time?

edit: but for someone who is not keeping track of their body's signals of fertility, you can only tell this impossibility *after the fact* (after your period has already come).. if you are not keeping track of your cycles and have no clue when you ovulated, you can't be *sure* beforehand that your period will start when you think it will... hope that makes sense

yes, of course. Anytime you have unprotected sex you run the risk of pregnancy - here's why.
A lot of woman believe that they only ovulate around day 14 of their cycle. That is only an AVERAGE and each month can be on a different day. It varies the more irregular your periods are.
Sperm can live inside the woman for up to 5 days so if you have sex 3 days after your period and you ovulate somewhere within the next 5 days then you run the risk of pregnancy. And if you think about it then its 8 days after your period and if 14 is an average then you can see the chances are real.
It's simple. If you want to avoid pregnancy then you need to use birth control.
