So, I'm a guy and before the pill was invented I knew a woman would have to be responsible with her body. She would have to think twice about who she laid down with and a steady BF was always the thing to be had. Now, as a man I have to worry becuase she is free to screw anyone without repercussions. Personally, I think the pill did nothing but screw-up and drive distance between men and woman. Men are the better half of woman, and woman are the better half of men. Men should be accountable to woman and woman should be accountable to men. Being free and an individual are just words and thoughts. They are not the actual. The guy that invented the pill should have had his head chopped off! You would never see the pill in the middle east because they know better than westerners.

Deidre, nature calls it best... No other animal on the planet can control pregnancy. When you stray away from whats right and whats wrong - you create a screwed up society.

First of all the term whore is a patriarchial definition meant to keep women from acting the way men did for years. Who are you to judge another. It has nothing to do with being bad or good but the different values that a person has. Just because these differ from yours this doesn't give you the right to refer to others in derogatory terms. What if your mother has had multiple partners? Do you refer to her in this manner. Have some respect for yourself and you will also learn to respect others.

Setting aside the highly offensive use of the word 'whore', I agree that men and women should be respectful to each other.
But it seems that we all have very different ideas of what that respect should look like.
The pill gave women the SAME sexual freedom as men. It does not give them MORE sexual freedom. If women are whores for this, then are the men also? Yet you do not attack men, only women. This is called a double-standard where I come from -- it shows your argument to be self-serving, and not in the interest of women.
While I understand that it is considerably more inconvenient for some men, I do not think women are birds to be adored and kept in a cage. This is not respect that I want as a woman. This is where you and I differ.

Yes and among the other things you will never see in the middle east is female progress, female freedom, gender equality, you get the point. I will say birth control pills gave women the same sexual freedom men have had for centuries. If you say that makes them whores i would say, so what? men have been whores for eons of years past and i don't remember hearing women complain about it. You sound like a 2 year old still riding the delusion that you should be able to control another being using the anthem that men are better off with women and women are better off with men. All i can say to you is that unfortunately for you, the population of uneducated women who will buy into your delusion are fast dwindling. Your best bet is to run off to the middle east ASAP because even that water supply is fast drying out

I sort of agree with you. Birth control should be used to prevent pregnancies between two people who are committed to one another but aren't ready or able to support a child.
Birth control is statistically used by responsible women. Not ones that whore around. Whores have 3, 4, 10 "baby daddies" and think that its normal and okay. I don't know of a childless (or disease free) whore but i'm sure there are some. Those are the ones who employ abortion as their only birth control option.

Absolutely not. I totally disagree. Women are free to be whoever they choose to be. If a woman wants to be a whore, she is being much more responsible by taking birth control pills. Birth control just prevents them from bringing a child into the world who is unwanted, it doesn't turn them into "whores".
The issue is "morals". . . . knowing the difference between right and wrong, and then choosing to do what is right.
The pill did nothing to screw up anything. Personal choices cause people to experience consequences. Quit trying to blame a pill and quit trying to dictate the reproductive choices of women.
Maybe you should be beheaded for having an opinion about how women should behave.
If it really bothers you that much, I think you should go whine to your psychiatrist about it.

Yep, the birth control pill gave women the same choices that many men took advantage of to have sex with as many partners as they would like to. If you want to call that being a whore, that's your choice.
Isn't it great? You can't control what women do now with their bodies.
That's why I laugh when people say feminism changed society, wrecked marriages, increased divorce, etc. I think the pill had more influence then just about any movement could ever have. Finally, women didn't have to be careful when or who they had sex with, didn't have to wait for marriage, didn't have to marry at all, and could have children without men, when they wanted to.
Yep, the pill destroyed the traditional lifestyle quite nicely. lol

So you think it's OK for men to screw around without repercussions, but it's not OK for women? That's what I read in your first few lines.
Why are men studs when they sleep around, but women are whores if they do? Aren't we all sexual beings? And what respectable woman wants to settle down with a man who has been screwing a bunch of whores? Isn't there something wrong with the man's behavior there?
Personally, I think the pill made men feel they could dismiss the use of condoms, and that has led to irresponsible behavior resulting in a huge increase in the transmission of STDs.

Silly me, I thought we were equal partners. I guess I better tell my wife that I'm in charge now. The old saying about sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander doesn't seem to apply in your curious world. This is good cuz I was ready for a big change in my life. I was formerly of the opinion that birth control pills were a wonderful option for women, I stand corrected.

Wrong, some animals can control when the sperm will fertilize the egg. And some animals will cause themselves to abort to get away from a predator.
BC gave women freedom to enjoy their sexuality just like men do. BC gave women freedom to decide when and if they will have families. BC gave women the ability to lessen the severity of their menstrual symptoms and to regulate their menstruation.

What a lot of hogwash. We are the only animal that ISN'T able to have a rest from pregnancy until we're 50.
All other animals have a season to mate and are free from being badgered by males for the majority of their lives.
I do wish you'd do some research before you get all frothy about whores. Young men visiting this site without your limited advantages, would assume you knew what you were talking about.
