I quit smoking 2 packs a day. When I felt the urge to smoke , I would tell myself that I did not need the cigarette & did not want it. Possitive thinking really did wonders for me. I never dwelled on it, I would just remind my self of all the reasons I did not want to smoke.
DO NOT tell yourself that you can't do it. Tell yourself that YOU CAN DO IT. Don't go into it with an attitude of dred. Go into it with a great attitude.
The longer I went without them the less I thought about them.
GOOD LUCK AND DON'T GIVE UP!!! I CAN BE DONE

First off when do you smoke? Is it an all day thing or do you do it certain times? You have a few options. 1. Cold turkey this doesn't work well with most people it takes lots of support and will power. Take all your smokes and throw them away. Every time you feel the urge to smoke take the money you would use to buy a pack and place it in a jar and that might help motivate you. 2. Step down program. Over time go to smoking one less smoke a day. Or if you smoke only certain times try to find another activity to fill in that time. 3. You can check these sites as well for more ideas.... Also remember if you don't meet your goal don't give up. Analyze your situation and try another method. Good luck.

bro u gotta realize that your smoke isnt your girlfriend. your smoke isnt the one giving you sex (even tho it may feel good) your smoke isnt loving you its tearing your teeth apart causing plauqe and toxins which cause cancer in your lungs.Your smoke causes "2nd hand smoke" "its distracting and disqusting" to other people, its not a pleasant smell unless your addicted to it.
If you have urges ejaculate or something, go running that usually is the best answer for anything. You can always fill your wants and needs up with good and fun things you like doing in your spare time(maybe you like candy eat candy instead of smoking. Just dont forget to brush your teeth!). Just dont smoke, she will leave you and your smoke in the pits of hell >>>>you dont want that do you? Its hard but so is life, look at it this way you either really like her or you dont. You only feel empty because you are an addict and you being an addict makes you want more, but its all a mental thing. Trust me its not good for you, the environment, your girlfriend. Mainly this is your life at stake here, everytime you huff and puff you are dropping the bar on life. Every second of that last pleasureful puff you take is a second of your life.
Leave your smoke.
Get back with your girlfriend.
Good luck.

Go to http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/common/addictions/tobacco/296.html. This quiz will help you answer the question, "Why do I smoke?"
Next make an appointment with your doctor to see what smoking cessation aids, if any, would work for you. Last but not least check out http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NicotineBusters/. this site has a tremendous amount of information and great support.
Good luck!

Stopping smoking can be really hard. It has psychological as well as physical impact. Nicotine is addictive. Your doctor can prescribe you with the right dose. You may also need to have a support group so you will stay smoke free for good

I smoked 40 a day - Marlboro Red - and stopped over night using a product called Commit - 40mg lozenge. I used them for about a month and then that was that. This was over three years ago, and I am done - then smell of smoke kills me now and I will never start again.
