I forgive, then try to forget

You can never completely forget somthing. You can block it out for a fough days or years, but eventually it comes back to you. If somthing has happened to you that you want to forget first you must forgive the poeple, animals, or nature that were involved in your memory. God loves when people are forgiving because it takes a real mature person to realize it is better to dispose of your hatred rather then keep it in. Once you forgive the memory won't be as harsh and you'll begin to forget only to think of it occassionally from a positive point of view. You will be rewarded by freedom when your forgive! If you don't you'll be haunted by some memories. It'll never feel right until you place yourself in an unconfortable position and speak as if you were some holy person. You would never do this for yourself because your hatred would stop you, but if you forced the hatred out through some words that came with meaning you'd feel free and is if there were no weight on your shoulders. It's hard to reveal somthing you want to keep in, but it'll tear you apart if you keep it in for to long, it'll make you feel depressed.

I don't think that it is possible to forget, and not forgive. Right? you would have to remember what it is that you are not forgiving.

I prefer to forgive and not forget--because I know that there is a lesson to be learned, and remembering if someone hurt me, screwed me over, or made me angry--that I don't want someone to do that to me again!

Depends on the severity of the situation. There are certain things that can never be forgiven or forgotten.

Wherever possible I always try to do both, but if I have to choose a preferance I would choose to forget so that I no longer hurt as a result of the actions of others.

I never forget. I can forgive. So..forgive but not forget.

(*lol*) Sometimes I not only don't forget, but I don't forgive either...name that grudge, carry it around...make it my friend.
