... about it to our mates down the pub. But how do you load the dishwasher. esp the cutlery. Is it all random, throw it in. Or all the forks together, all the knifes together etc etc.

As I'm sure you well know, loading is critically important, otherwise the dishwasher doesn't do its job and you've wasted time and energy and polluted the environment unnecessarily.

The cutlery is best mixed so as to avoid the spooning effect, whereby items of similar shape nest together so preventing the water getting all around.

Personally, I take immense pride in loading my dishwasher so that it's crammed to capacity and everything comes out sparkling - and I thank you for this opportunity to brag about it.

Six cans of Harp and a Valium and She's loaded all right. I keep the cutlery out of sight till she's settle in for the night though, good safety point to reference for the young fellows just starting a "proper" relationship with their beloved.

Greetings! When I load the dishwasher, I just put the stainless steel utensil in the strainer, higgledy piggledy. There really is no reason to sort through, unless you just want to reach and pull out one set to put in the drawer. It takes me a few seconds longer to put them away, quite literally. I do put some sharp knives with the blade down, however. Take care.

My missus spent a lot of time and energy teaching me this sophisticated technique... Now i tend not to use the dishwasher all together. Hand washing is much easier in comparison.

I've always wondered why the manufacturers go out of their way to make the machines hold a complete 12-place dinner service. The only time people wash a complete 12-place dinner service is the day it arrives.
