sara - I answer the questions I have an answer for. :) When I don't have a good enough answer, or the time to write a decent answer, I star the question, to say hello. :)

socmum16 - I understand, but many people here can't come to YA every day, or don't have much time to write, and I like to give them the time and the opportunity to answer, if they wish. I leave my questions open for a week, so all my contacts can answer them, if they feel like. :)

Breezey - I know, my friend, but closed questions are deleted just the same, as we both know...
I get many answers after the first day. In fact, some of the best, from people who took the time to think before answering.

I don't like leaving people hanging.
Edit: I hear what you're saying. I'll leave a question open if it seems like it's getting attention. However, if too much time goes by without someone giving an answer, I just figure the question has run it's course and I pick a best answer.

Some of the people who ask questions are closing them within a day so they don't forget them. Others are closing them soon, thinking they won't get any answers after the first day. Still others are closing as soon as four hours are up in hopes of not getting them deleted.
If there is a certain person, ask them to wait longer. Sometimes we just don't realize someone still might want to answer.
Have a great day Moon!

I close my questions quickly if I find a satisfactory answer that I'd choose as best for 2 reasons: 1) I don't like letting my questions go to vote, and 2) I'm not always sure when I will be able to use a computer next, so I close off my questions while I have a chance.

Sometimes I have closed questions when I get an expiration notice - other times I extend it for 48 hours to get an extra day for all -- but I'd hate to think I'd cut anyone off at the pass. Perhaps the race is always to the swift, if not to the wisest. There's a lot of that about. LOL

Usually i wait for 2 days as i found out that very few answers
are received after 48 hrs.
It's for each of us here to decide for a closing date and as such we cannot take in consideration the opinion of all the answerer's.
It's a choice.

Your point is well taken and agreed to. I think, like you, that questions should not be closed in a hurry.
You too, have a wonderful Sunday, and, increasingly, happy days ahead...God bless you!

I don't close my questions. If there is an answer that I feel is correct, I will choose it and automatically the question is answered and is closed.

Well, I guess my only answer would be because I'm impatient. That, or I think none of my contacts really want to answer my questions. Thanks for letting me know that you do. I'll keep them open for longer just for you!
