Alfredsson is on a much better line, so he will rack up more points then Elias.
Plus Ottawa will do better then New Jersey in 07-08.
I say Alfie will have about 20 more points then Elias when the season is done.

Even though Elias is on the cup twice, and Alfi not at all, i think alfie is a better captain. The two times Elias is on the cup - he was not captain, Scott Stevens was (and NJ rode Brodeur through the finals to the Cup). I would say that Alfie is the better capt- better man on PK. Overall though i think its a toss-up. They both skate well enough, decent on special teams, lead very well, i just think Alfie is a tad better in the clutch. Plus its a matter of who do i dislike less- Elias plays for NJ, and being a Flyers fan i just can't say he's the best option, if he played for damn near any other team, i think he might be. Maybe i'm wrong though, its happened once or twice before, who knows...

Alfredsson has been a captain or alternate captain of the Swedish National team on many ocassions
Elias has never been either with the Czech National Team.
If I personally had to choose between them, I'd choose Alfredsson

Alfredsson is just a better player in general and Elias is more likely to get injured.

If you want plenty of whine to go with that stick in the face, take Alfredson. If you're looking for a guy that plays hard, keeps his mouth shut, and doesn't have to worry about where the refs are looking before making his play, take Elias.
I really don't see where Afie would have much success if he had to play New Jersey's style of defense first. On the other hand I think Elias would excel in a wide open game like Ottawa plays. What impresses me about the Devils is the fact its awefuly hard to get them to admit the refs had a bed night regardless of the outcome. Hate watching them play though, its like watching paint dry, can't say the same for Ottawa.
