Someone should look under the front and see if there is a missing or broken sway bar link. They connect the frame to the sway bar and if one is broken it will do as you describe with extreme handling problems.

Bought it used? The panhard bar loacating the rear axle may have bad bushings. Of course the stability program will kick in anti lock brake system is trying to keep sway and loss of control from happening. I have seen the owner thinking 285/ 50/ 18 tires can be replaced with 305/70/18 tires and sway all over the road to much side wall flex. Tire pressures? And make sure your tires are the exact size on the drivers door jamb. Mileage would have been helpfull? Shocks stop bounce but also help in cornering.

Its sounds like you have a ball joint going out - you had better have it checked out because you could find you self in a ditch if it completely goes.
