Laos.
It is exotic, small , very easy to get around, has nice weather most of the year, very inexpensive and not over run with tourists yet. The people are friendly and many speak English. Most of the young people become a monk for a year in exchange for their schooling. They are always happy to find people to practice speaking English with.
The temples are beautiful and historic. There are beautiful waterfalls and colorful markets. It is the least populated Asian country. Whereas Bangkok has around 6 million people, Vientiane , the capitol of Laos has only about 130 thousand people. To travel from the capital Vientiane to Luang Prabang by bus cost only about five USD. Of course it takes 8 to 10 hours, but that is part of the fun.
Go see it before everyone discovers the secret.
