I have a bracelet which has no way of doing up except for tying two pieces of string together around your wrist so it stays there. I'm worried I won't be able to undo a double knot if I tie one, and I really don't want to have to cut it off. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You can pick up a clasp at a craft store about a dollar. they are simple to attach, and someone at the store would probably even do it for you for free, if you ask. Toggle clasps are the best for bracelets because you can do them yourself easily.

If the pieces of string are long enough you can make double bows, the same as you tie on your shoes.
Or tie one end in a bow and the other as in a reef knot (or square knot, which is the same English and American name.)

If you tie a proper reef knot you can always undo it, see the knot in this link:

Do not tie the granny, also on this page, or the thief, as they are harder to undo.

To untie you pull on the ends, also shown on that page.

If you are not happy with this, you can also sew one end into a loop and put a bead on the other end, make a knot after the bead and sew that fixed.
Or sew a bead or button on the end not made into a loop. (And cut it after the connection, if you have fixed it with sewing or glue.)

You could try a square knot. Take the two ends then right string over left string then (new) left over right.

What ties me in knots are the pressures of daily life while I burn the candle at both ends. What makes me come undone are the arms that hold me through the night....even if the arms are a long drive away from me.
